The Equality and Equity Unit of Catalonia’s Autonomous Police – Mossos d’Esquadra was created in November 2019, operating under the organisational and functional remit of the Commissariat General for Institutional Relations, Prevention and Mediation.

The Equality and Equity Unit has a number of aims. Most importantly, it promotes gender policies in the Directorate General of the Police, furthers gender mainstreaming throughout the force’s organisational structure, represents the Mossos d’Esquadra in external committees and bodies, and has helped to draw up the first Equal Opportunities Plan.
