The first female commissioner in the Mossos d’Esquadra police force

Commissioners are responsible for command, management, guidance, coordination and inspection at the highest level of the police services.

Commissioner Cristina Manresa achieved this rank in 2009, becoming the first woman to do so. After joining the force in 1991, in the fourth cohort, she rose through the ranks until making commissioner. The work she has done over the course of her career has been widely recognised both inside and outside the force.
